Our Mission

The NAIW/HAIP mission is EDUCATION and ALLIANCE. NAIW provides professional education , an environment in which to build business alliances, and the opportunities to make connections with people offering career paths and levels of insurance experience. Caring and sharing with each other in FELLOWSHIP is also an important part of our Association. We are actively involved in many community service projects and provide support to various non-profit organizations. our LOYALTY to our organization and its members is expressed in the promotion of our Association and our participation in its activities.

Our History

In March 1947, a luncheon was arranged by Edith Norton-Harris, who explained to those in attendance the benefits of belonging to an insurance club. The exchange of information among the members would help everyone and the friendships that would be established would promote a general feeling of really belonging to the growing field of insurance. The idea was enthusiastically received and the Insurance Women's Club of Honolulu was formed The name was later changed to the Honolulu Association of Insurance Professionals.
