The Honolulu Association of Insurance Professionals (HAIP) has been approved as a Provider by the Hawaii State Insurance Division (#207691) and is offering the following classes. The cost for each course is shown on the course schedule.
Financial assistance is available for NAIW Members who are in good standing with the association. Should you need assistance you may request more information from our Education Chairperson.
The following courses have been approved by the Hawaii Insurance Division for continuing education credit. Refer to the specific class webpage for course details.
INS 21 - Property & Liability Insurance Principles
What is Insurance? How is Insurance regulated? Who provides it? How financial performance of insurers is measured, claims, property loss exposures and policy provisions, insurance contracts, liability loss exposures and policy provisions, underwriting, risk management, and marketing. These are the topics covered in this first segment of the Program in General Insurance. It is recommended that this class be taken before any of the other segments.
INS 22 - Personal Lines
Areas covered in the second segment of the General Insurance Program are automobile insurance and society, personal auto policy, homeowners insurance, other residential insurance other personal property and liability insurance, personal loss exposures and financial planning, life insurance and health and disability insurance.
INS 23 - Commercial Lines The third part to this program covers commercial property insurance, business income, commercial crime and equipment breakdown, inland and ocean marine, commercial general liability, commercial auto, businessowners policies and farm, workers' compensation and employer's liability and miscellaneous coverages. The INS 22 and 23 can be taken out of order, but we strongly recommend beginning this course of study with INS 21.
